A fabulous rare vintage Christian Dior 1950s genuine black snakeskin purse / clutch combo. The snakeskin is applied to the front in diagonal strips that overlap in rows along the corner. The snakeskin is applied in five vertical strips along the backside. The gold-tone encircled Dior logo contrasts beautifully against the black snakeskin.
The interior is lined in suede with one long zip pocket. The gold-tone abstract circular snap closure keeps the purse securely closed. The gold-tone chain handle has a 16" drop and can be folded into the interior converting the handbag into a clutch. Measurements are approximately 10 3/4" L x 5 1/2" H x 3" W.
The snakeskin is in very good condition with no loss of scales. There's a slight lifting on some scales, which is normal with use. The purse has a deep indentation on the upper backside. See photos for details.
