Beautiful Antique Victorian carved tigers eye left-facing cameo embellished with slightly translucent white pearl-like stones. The cameo features a left-facing man wearing a cap that's reminiscent of the Canterbury Pilgrims. The cameo is set in a chatelaine style brooch with an attached hoop to add a dangling object or piece of jewelry.
The cameo frame is made of mixed metals. There's a beautiful bright gold-tone wavy ring surrounding the silver frame. The gold wavy ring appears to be gold or rolled gold. The gold color is bright, with no signs of any other metal peeping through when looking through a loupe. The silver circle has a coin edge framing 16 deeply set round pearl-like white stones. The silver setting appears to be silver or have some silver content. The silver frame is welded onto the round textured gold-tone backing that holds the cameo. The cameo measures 3/8" and approximately 1 1/4" round with frame.
The stickpin on the backside is broken, but I added a lovely antique Victorian twisted rope 22" brass chain, so it can still be worn as a pendant. The lever on the c-clasp is slightly broken off the tip, but there's still enough of a nub left to catch to open and close it securely. There are no markings to identify the maker or material. The carved tiger’s eye cameo is in very good condition except for a small chip on the lower right edge. See photos for details.
